Watch This and Be Encouraged

Jared, the same student who I wrote to you about just a week ago is also a film student and he recently made a short video documenting his and others experience in Focus. I just found it so encouraging that I wanted to share it with all of you. Your investment is making a huge impact. I'm so thankful for all that you do. Please watch this video! I think the student did an incredible job capturing our community.

Fall Camp and Good News

Hello Friends,

I just wanted to write and update you on some things I have seen God doing at UT Arlington over the course of the last month in hopes that these stories might serve as an encouragement to you. As always I am encouraged by my friendship with each of you. Every month that I write one of these updates, I am filled with gratitude for each one of you as I reflect on your partnership in this ministry. None of what I get to do at UT Arlington would be possible without your support so before I begin sharing the stories over the last month I want to reiterate my thanks. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you beyond what you ever thought imaginable.

Over the last month Hayli and I have been inviting the students from our leader team over to our apartment for dinner! It has been so encouraging to hear how God has brought each one of these students to UT Arlington and how God has used Christian community to inspire them to want to make disciples of Jesus on their college campu…

Mustard Seeds

Hello Friends, I pray that this blog post finds you well today. I'm so thankful for your prayers and for you support of college ministry. As I write this I'm reminded of how Jesus describes the Kingdom of Heaven in Matthew 13:31-32. "He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” That is largely how I see God working here at UT Arlington, sometimes the action we take in bringing Jesus to our peers can seem small, but in time God uses the seeds we plant to bring about his kingdom in powerful ways. I'm so grateful for that. I hope that the stories below encourage your spirit and affirm for you again today how God is truly at work.

A few exciting things below. The first one is a formal invitation to our Open House event this Saturday t…

A generation, rising up to take their place

Hello friends and ministry partners! I pray that this blog update finds you well today. Please let me know if there is any way that I can be praying for you. I'm so grateful for all of the prayers that you have prayed on the behalf of myself and the ministry here at UT Arlington. I wanted to share a few really exciting things from this month, as well as one that I forgot to mention last month, in hopes that you will be encouraged when you see how God is moving on college campuses in DFW.
Winter Camp is one of the most exciting times of the year, right before the winter semester starts every year over 600 college students from different FOCUS campuses get together to worship God, listen to sermons and lessons from qualified speakers, this year our speaker was Dr. John Stackhouse. His content really was so valuable and it was such a blessing for our students to be able to learn from him all weekend. If you want a sense of what was talked about and what our students got to take away,…
